Lucy

Billing software for physical therapy clinics. Lucy checks each patient's insurance benefits before the visit, prepares and sends the claim after it, and follows the claim until it is paid.

Lucy is provided by Tek Hubs LLC.

What Lucy does

Checks insurance benefits

Asks the patient's insurer, through a clearinghouse, what physical therapy is covered, and lays out the co-pay, deductible, visit limit and pre-authorization rules for the front desk before the visit.

Prepares and sends claims

Builds the claim from the clinic's charges, checks it against the insurer's rules before it goes out, and sends it electronically.

Follows claims to payment

Reads the insurer's acknowledgments and payment remittances, and shows what was paid, what was denied, and what needs someone's attention.

Handles faxes

Receives and sends the faxes that insurers and referring providers still use, alongside the patient they belong to.

Who uses Lucy

Lucy is for the staff of the physical therapy clinics that use it: front desk, billers, providers and clinic administrators. It is not a consumer app. Each clinic's administrator decides who can sign in, and what each person can do.

Signing in with Google

People sign in to Lucy with the Google account their clinic added. Lucy asks Google only for your name and email address, to confirm who you are and to record who did what in Lucy. It does not read your Gmail, Drive, Calendar, contacts or anything else in your Google account. The Privacy Policy sets out exactly what Lucy collects and how it is used, stored and protected.

Patient privacy

Lucy holds patients' health information on behalf of the clinics it serves, as their business associate under HIPAA. Information travels encrypted, each person signs in individually, sessions end after 15 minutes without activity, and every sign-in and change of access is recorded.
